Kim Clijsters Finally Lets Us Off the Tenterhooks of Suspense and Retires Already

Marrying an American isn't bad enough, the Belgian had to go around talking about skipping the upcoming French Open at Roland Garros to prepare for her last Wimbledon.

Well, no more of that. She did make sure her departure from the game didn't go unnoticed though.

The stated reason for cutting her swan song short?

The constantly returning injuries, the laborious crawl out of bed in the morning and the time it takes to warm up tired muscles ...

Awh, come on!

Frankly, I bet it has more to do with once having been involved with Lleyton Hewitt. Not good for one's confidence and self-esteem, I bet. Red flags pop up all over the place around him. But that's her problem.


I really like the game she plays. I wish she had won more tournaments. But it's her life. May the rest of it be a good one.
